San Carlos Laguna is a natural pond of approximately 2 hectares that is both fed by rainy water and subterranean streams. It`s surrounded by mountains and forests that can be crossed through several paths where a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles can be observed.
From the peak of the tallest mountain that surrounds the Laguna you can enjoy an spectacular view of the pond and you can see the Pacific Ocean miles away.
Fishing is allowed in the Laguna and its water, which is always fresh, invites you to swim anytime of the year.
From Hostal Los Trinos you can get to the Laguna in five minutes by car. If you like to walk you can get there in about 30 minutes. Also you can deal to hire a horse with the local peasants.
